Pre - Easter Celebration

So it was an early Easter at our place this past weekend. AG and CE were in town so we decided to get the rest of the family together and have lunch after church.
We bought some boots for JJ when we were out at the rodeo over a month ago and gave them to him this past weekend. It was a lot of fun to watch how excited he was to get them.

Here he is in the kitchen clacking around. They are too big for him so he kept falling over but we figured that he would grow into them.

After sharing lunch together and having a pretty good afternoon we decided that we would share the stomach flu also. It was awesome. Eric's mom got sick Monday morning. AG got sick in the afternoon. Eric's dad got sick in the evening. IG and I got sick Monday night. Eric got sick Tuesday morning and came home early from work, and CE got sick last night. Those Goldammer's need to learn that it's okay not to share EVERYTHING!

Eric and I are home again today. We are feeling a lot better this afternoon and the aches have pretty much gone now and we are working on eating normal food. And I thought for sure that I had made it through this crazy cold and flu season without getting sick. Guess I spoke too soon!

Other People's Lives

Quick thought before I finish getting ready and do some home visits....

Have you ever looked at someone else's life and thought how much fun their life would be? When you see pictures or hear about their life it seems like it would be so much easier then your own. Or maybe the profession that they chose seems a lot more appealing now that I am in mine.

I don't think that someone else's profession is necessarily easier but I think that sometimes it just feels like it. Maybe it's just lent and I am chronically tired so just about anything seems easier. Not only is it lent but I am also taking on more responsibility and more people are coming to me for things, therefore more interruptions. I love interruptions, just adds to the craziness of the day.

That's my quick thought for the day.....

Overwhelmed

I was just looking at my calender and I think that this is last weekend that I sort of have any time for myself. This Friday is defiantly a clean the house day. It hasn't had a GOOD cleaning in a long time and really needs it. Saturday family is going to be here, which will be nice but not any alone time. Then Sunday we are celebrating Easter on the Goldammer side. Defiantly not any alone time. Next week is the week before Holy Week, enough side. Next weekend I am heading out to the Rosebud Reservation with the church, Sat - Sun. And then it's Holy Week. Ufda!

The Summer is going to be here before we know it! Which is a good thing but it feels like there is a lot of work that needs to get done before then.

I think I have just decided that sometimes it is better to just take it a day at a time. To look at everything that needs to happen in even a weeks time can be overwhelming.
